Here at Little Cuckoos we are proud to have some of the best staff around!

All of our staff’s knowledge and skills are kept up to date by participating in regular training courses, and they have all developed areas of special interest.

Our Pre-School staff are:

Our keyworker system gives each member of staff particular responsibility for just a few children. Each child in the group has one special adult to relate to, which can make settling into the group much easier. In addition, the keyworker is in a position to tailor the group’s curriculum to the unique needs of the individual child. The keyworker maintains links with the child’s home setting, working with parents through shared record keeping to ensure that all children are supported in reaching their full potential.

 Record keeping

We implement an excellent record keeping system in which observations of all the children in the group are used as a basis for the children’s individual ‘Learning Journey’. This is a file containing photos and capturing special moments of your child’s time at Little Cuckoo’s. As well as documenting the progress they make during their time at Little Cuckoos and demonstrating how your child’s learning corresponds to the EYFS framework, it allows parents and carers to be involved in the children’s ‘journey’ and provides a precious memento of your child’s early years.

The role of parents

We recognise that parents are the first and most important educators of their young children. Our pre-school aims to support parents. Parents are welcome to:

· Work in the group with children.
· Assist with fund-raising.
· Take part in the management of the pre-school, by attending committee meetings
